Wastewater Treatment Upgrade AAP Results

The Village has received 382 elector responses indicating that those individuals are opposed to the adoption of a loan authorization bylaw to borrow funds to construct an upgraded lagoon wastewater (sewer) treatment plant unless the Council obtains elector assent by way of a vote.
At its meeting on September 4, 2018, the Council is expected to consider whether to proceed with a voting opportunity to gain elector assent to adopt the bylaw at the October 20, 2018 general local election.
The Village is applying for federal-provincial infrastructure funding of $7.081 million from the federal-provincial Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program in support of the project. The maximum estimated cost of the wastewater upgrade project is $9.7 million.
