Water Conservation in Village Parks and Recreational Amenities

Posted on

The use of water will be reduced to help conserve water over the summer and fall.

With Stage 2 water restriction in effect on June 4, the following actions are being taken to reduce the use of water in Village public spaces:

Bike Wash Station: The Recreation Centre parking lot Bike Wash Station will be closed. Signage will be posted onsite.

Village Park Water Spray Park: Reduction of operating hours to 12 – 5 pm, which are the established Stage 2 hours. Signage will be posted onsite.

Lawn Irrigation: Reducing the lawn irrigation settings at the Village Park Family Area, Village Square and Fire Hall to water one day per week.

The Village Park sports field zones will continue to be watered at night to maintain the sports fields for public use and to prevent loss of plant material.

All tree/shrub/horticultural bed drip irrigation systems will remain on their current watering settings.
