Water Conservation Tips from Market Day
Posted on
Thank you to all residents, businesses, vendors, visitors and participants for a great Victoria Day weekend in Cumberland.
Our Stage 1 water restrictions are in effect as of May 1 each year. At Market Day, we asked visitors to the booth what they do to conserve water in the summer and year-round.
Here are some of those tips:
- Use rainwater on your garden
- Don’t leave the water running while washing or brushing your teeth
- Take shorter showers!
- Use a tree gator bag
- Drink delicious locally-crafted beverages
The Village also had a prize draw for recreation passes and slow-release tree watering bags. Congratulations to our prize winners: Mervine Hanneson, Cresslynn Brodhagen, James Spruit, Pam Moore and Michael Rockx.
Our skill-testing question was: How many kilometres of trail are in the Cumberland trail network? The answer is 80 km.
