Rotary Work Party at Orchard Park on April 7th
Posted on
The Rotary Club of Cumberland Centennial, in partnership with the Village of Cumberland, will be hosting a spring clean-up event at Orchard Park at the west end of Dunsmuir Avenue (Camp Road) on Sunday April 7th from 9 am-1 pm.
All residents are invited to come out and lend a helping hand. Tasks include cleaning up branches and other debris, removing scotch broom, and prepping the orchard for another summer season. Please bring work gloves, loppers (for broom removal) and drinking water. All volunteers will be required to sign up to ensure coverage under the Village’s volunteer insurance policy.
The Village acquired Orchard Park in the fall of 2012; prior to this, the local Rotary club lead maintenance and clean up of the orchard and surrounding area. The Rotary will continue to be involved in park maintenance and is excited to partner with the Village which will allow for greater community participation in maintaining the orchard.
