Cumberland to Support UROC in Pursuit of Trail Access Agreements

Posted on

At its meeting on April 22, 2013, Cumberland Council approved a memorandum of understanding between the Village and the United Riders of Cumberland.

This two year agreement provides for the Village’s Parks and Outdoor Recreation Coordinator to help facilitate negotiations for legal trail access agreements with the private landowners, including Hancock Forest Management and TimberWest Forest Corporation. Staff time may also be spent assisting with development trail management plans and standards. Under the agreement, UROC will take the lead on pursuing land access agreements and leading trail work parties.

Find more information and view the Memorandum of Understanding in the April 22, 2013 council meeting agenda.

Village community parks, such as Coal Creek Historic Park and the Cumberland Community Forest, are not part of this agreement and will continue to be managed by the Village.
