Advisory Planning Commission
This page was last reviewed on October 7, 2026.
The Advisory Planning Commission reviews matters referred to it by Cumberland Village Council and provides comments and recommendations.
For example, the APC may be asked to review and provide comments on the following types of applications:
- Amendments to the Official Community Plan
- Rezoning of property to a different use or density
- Development permits and development variance permits (on referral by Council)
In addition, the APC may be asked to review and make a recommendation on plans and strategies in regard to parks and greenways, housing options, climate action, transportation and mobility.
In general, Village Council may refer matters to the APC respecting land use, community planning or proposed bylaw or permits contained in Part 14 of the Local Government Act.
Current Advisory Planning Commission member terms expire February 28, 2027. The Village will start recruiting for the next four-year term in January 2027. Watch for announcements in Currently Cumberland, in the Village’s email newsletter, or on this webpage.
