Cumberland Fire responds to small fire in Cumberland Community Forest
Posted on
Cumberland Fire and Rescue was called to the Cumberland Community Forest on August 21 to respond to a report of smoke in the forest near the Yellow Gate kiosk. Upon arrival, fire fighters were able to quickly put out a small fire smoldering in a decomposing log. An improperly disposed of cigarette butt was found at the scene. Trail users passing through the area reported the fire.
A reminder to all users of trails, the Cumberland Community Forest and other village parks that extremely dry conditions persist and a smoking ban remains in place by order of the Fire Chief.
