Disc Golf Course Open at Coal Creek Historic Park
Posted on
A new 18 hole disc golf course is now open at Cumberland’s Coal Creek Historic Park. The course was developed as a trial operation until the end of 2016 in partnership with the Comox Valley Disc Golf Club (CVDGC). At the end of 2016, the Village, CVDGC and other park stakeholders will assess the course and its impacts on the park.
The course can be accessed through the primary entrance to Coal Creek Historic Park at Jumbo’s cabin on Comox Lake Road. There is limited parking at the site and users are encouraged to ride or walk via the west end of Dunsmuir Avenue, Comox Lake Road, or through trails in the Cumberland Community Forest.
Course maps, signs and other navigational aids are being developed and will be available soon. At the base of each target a yellow rope is affixed to the ground – follow the direction the rope is pointing in to the next hole.
A grand opening is planned to take place in mid-April. Watch for updates as more information on this event becomes available.
