Extreme Weather has Impacted Solid Waste Collection
Posted on
Update at 1pm on June 30: Emterra has dropped off a large red bin in the Public Works yard (behind the Village Office on First Street) that will be available today (June 30, 2021) until 4pm and on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 8:30am until 4pm. If you are unable to keep your organics until next Monday’s collection, please drop off in the bin provided.
Update at 4pm on June 28: The collector has completed collecting garbage and it has been confirmed that organics will not be collected due to the effect of heat on crew health. Please bring in your organics container to secure storage until July 5 collection.
Due to the effects of the extreme heat on the collection crews and for the crews’ health and safety, the collector has advised that garbage collection will take priority over organics/yard waste collection on June 28, 2021.
If your organics/yard waste is not collected today please bring it in to a secure storage location and do not place it out the following day as crews will be continuing to meet demands of other routes throughout the week.
It may help to store your organic waste in your freezer if you are able.
Thank you for your understanding.
