Cumberland Recreation is looking for Climbing Wall Attendants and Climbing Wall Supervisors. We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in climbing and recreation, and who are ready to help adults and children get the most out of their climbing experiences.

Climbing shifts are primarily Saturdays between 9:30 and 4:30, with occasional special events at other times. Applicants should be able to commit to Saturdays with some regularity and must be available to work from mid-October through to the end of May 2022. WALL ATTENDANTS mitigate, observe and respectfully enforce climbing wall safety protocols, assist patrons with properly fitting shoes and harness, belay climbers during climbing sessions and assist with set-up, take-down, organization and preparation as needed.

Qualifications: Completion of Grade 8 with minimum 6 months belaying experience

Wage: $16 per hour

WALL SUPERVISORS perform wall attendant tasks, plus they supervise climbing groups and staff, confirm all participants have completed waivers, safely orientate patrons to the climbing wall zone, confirm all belayers hold a current Cumberland Recreation belay ticket, administer professional belay tests, instruct climbing programs and perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications: Completion of Grade 12 with minimum 2 years belaying experience, experience managing large groups independently, current First Aid and CPR C, clear Criminal Record Check

Wage: $18-22 per hour depending on qualifications and experience
