June 7 – Comox Valley Cycle Club Race

Posted on

Please be aware that the Comox Valley Cycle Club is holding a provincial youth road race this Saturday June 7.

The race is to commence on Dunsmuir Avenue at the Cumberland Village Park at 9am, and will be finished by approximately noon. The route is east on Dunsmuir Avenue to Union Road. The racers will turn left onto Union Road to go in a northerly direction. Cyclists will then be making several loops with racers making a righ turn onto Union Road after coming up Royston Road.

The race will have approximately 70 participants in total. There will be 5 groups in the race. Each group will have a separate start approximately five minutes apart. The groups will range in size from 6 – 20 riders. The age of riders will range from 12 – 18.

There will be no road closures with this race. We do ask however that drivers are considerate of racers on the road. Council of the Village of Cumberland reviewed this race plan at their meeting of May 12 and approved the use of Cumberland roadways for the event.
