Litter Collection Program

Cumberland not-for-profit organizations are invited to submit an application to be a partner in the Litter Collection Program.
This is a public service program to enhance local litter collection activities by picking litter the following routes:

| 1. | Cumberland/ Bevan Corridor | Cumberland Road from Highway 19 on/off ramps to Bevan Road; Bevan Road from Cumberland Road to Pidgeon Lake Road | 3.5 km | twice a month |
| 2. | Royston and Cumberland Road Arterials | Cumberland Road from Bevan Road to the Peace Park; Royston Road Village Park to the Highway 19 overpass | 1.5 km | once a month |
This program is only open to not-for-profit organizations that
- Are active in or provide community programs in Cumberland
- Are able to provide a minimum 6 volunteers per collection organization, plus 3 backup volunteers
- provide volunteers of a minimum of 12 years of age; and adult supervision at a maximum of 3 youth per supervisor
- Are willing and able to obtain the required equipment and insurance; and the use of an appropriate vehicle for the transport of garbage to the Comox Valley Waste Management Centre
- comply with safety training requirements for volunteers
