Recycle Soft Plastics at the Comox Valley Waste Management Centre

Did you know that you can recycle soft plastics at the recycling depot at the Waste Management Centre on Bevan Road?

Sort your soft plastics into two categories:

1. Plastic bags and overwrap – plastic that is not crinkly and you can poke your thumb through

e.g. plastic bags, toilet paper overwrap, pop can flats overwrap

2. Other flexible plastic packaging – plastic that is crinkly and doesn’t stretch. View a material list.

e.g. cereal bags, chip bags, candy wrappers, stand up pouches, woven and net plastic bags

These plastics cannot be recycled through your curbside container.
