Cumberland residents are invited to share their thoughts on transportation planning in this next round of feedback gathering. The Village of Cumberland is on Phase 4 of the 5-phase Transportation Master Plan (TMP) project.

“Street design has an impact on the whole community. The Transportation Master Plan survey is your chance for your voice to be heard,” says Vickey Brown, Mayor of Cumberland. “Please make sure you take the opportunity to share your thoughts.”

To ensure that the Transportation Master Plan accurately reflects the needs of the community we are once again asking for your feedback. Round 2 of the TMP Survey is now available and focuses on shared streets and priority corridor reviews. To fill out the survey please go to www.connectcumberland.ca. Please fill out the survey by 11:59pm on November 16th. As an incentive, everyone who fills out the survey will be entered into a draw for a $50 gift card to Dodge City Cycles or a $25 gift card to Darkside Chocolates.

This summer public engagement events for the Transportation Master Plan included a “Plan your Community” street event, an online survey, and a mapping tool. These events produced several common themes: More east-west connection opportunities, to focus on existing infrastructure before making new improvements and to create safer connections in and out of the Village.

The Transportation Master Plan provides direction for improvements to Cumberland’s transportation system. The Plan considers all forms of mobility including walking, rolling, cycling and transit, and all transportation related infrastructure such as roads, sidewalks, multi-use pathways, bus stops and street parking.
