Special Event at Village Park on August 21-23

Residents are advised that there will be lots of activity in and around Village Park the weekend of August 21-23, 2026 as Comox Valley RibFest returns to Cumberland.
The Village Park playground, splash park, sports courts, dog park and jump park will all remain open to the public throughout the event, and public access to the popular Colliery Trail will likewise be maintained at all times.
The hours of the event are as follows:
- Friday Aug 21: 11 am – 9 pm
- Saturday, Aug 22: 11 am – 9 pm
- Sunday, Aug 23: 11 am – 7 pm
Organizers will begin event set-up at the park on Thursday, August 20 and will be taking down and moving out on Monday, August 24 between 9 am and noon.
Village staff have worked with event organizers to minimize the impacts of this event on residents, including noise, parking and vehicle traffic. Volunteers will direct event traffic to appropriate parking locations and discourage parking in unsanctioned areas. Professional security will be on site at all times during the event, and volunteer “hosts” will further aim to facilitate a harmonious experience.
