Cumberland Tackling Graffiti
Posted on
The Village is working to remove graffiti from public property and encourages businesses and property owners to do the same.
Please report graffiti in parks, on streets, and on other public property to the Village office by calling 250-336-2291. Graffiti is a criminal offence under the Canadian Criminal Code and is also subject to a $200 ticket under the Village’s Nuisance Bylaw.
If you see vandals in the act call 9-1-1. If you want to report a suspect of graffiti or vandalism, please call the RCMP non-emergency line at 250-338-1321 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Village staff are working closely with the RCMP and graffiti removal specialists to manage graffiti in the Village. View the CrimeStoppers graffiti page.
If your property has been targeted with graffiti, the Village encourages you to report it to the Village and remove it as soon as possible. This may help reduce the chance of your property being targeted again. Local paint and home improvement stores should carry the necessary supplies to remove, paint over, and resist the application of graffiti.
