The Village Stands with the K’ómoks First Nation Against Hate
Posted on
In solidarity with the K’ómoks First Nation and families and victims of violence against Indigenous women and girls, the Village of Cumberland takes a stance against any kind of offensive speech, including hate speech and discriminatory speech, that makes light of crimes committed against Indigenous women, targets Indigenous identity, and that perpetuate stereotypes and discrimination against women.
Cumberland Council is committed to meaningful reconciliation with Indigenous peoples and actions that support a diverse and healthy community. The Cumberland community is encouraged to add their voices of support.
