Water Treatment Plant and Reservoir Construction Underway

Posted on

Recreations users accessing the Cumberland Community Forest and Private Managed Forest Lands south of Cumberland are advised that construction will be taking place from June 2018 to March 2019 on a new water treatment plant and reservoir to improve the quality and resiliency of Cumberland’s water supply system.

Most construction activity will take place in the area behind the “chlorine shack”. Recreation users can expect considerable construction traffic on the Davis Lake Main. For your safety, please

  • ride single file and stay to the right side of the road
  • have dogs on a leash
  • watch and listen for vehicle traffic at all times

Construction will take place generally between the hours of 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.

Blasting-related trail closures may be required the week of June 18, 2018. There may be short delays accessing some trails in the area, including Missing Link, Found Link, Lost and Found, Spanker, Kitty Litter and After School Special.
