Skatepark and Jump Park Progress Update

Posted on

The Village Park Skatepark and Jump Park project is rolling along nicely and significant progress has been made in recent weeks. For the skatepark, most of the concrete has been poured and remaining work includes features in the street section and landscaping tasks. While security fencing and signage is in place, unauthorized afterhours access to the park is an ongoing issue. The Village would like to remind residents that as the site is an active construction zone and that many hazards exist. The quality of the concrete finish may also be compromised if it is not given adequate time to cure. We understand the excitement but please keep out until construction is completed!

Over at the Jump Park, the pump track has been roughed in and the jump line layout is starting to take shape. With the warm and dry weather the soil conditions have drastically improved and June is expected to be a productive month of trail building! We would also like to remind users that this site is also an active construction zone and that the Wellington Colliery Trail may be closed at times. Please follow all posted safety signage and detours.

Both projects remain on track for completion in early summer 2017. Watch Cumberland.ca for future updates!
